The UVA I-CorpsTM Site is delighted to now partner with the Innovation Center at Norfolk State University in offering workshops to NSU students and faculty. These workshops provide both an introduction to customer discovery research as well as funding to support this research. All of the workshop sessions will be offered remotely using a virtual format and can potentially help participants:

 

• Identify real world outcomes from your research

• Increase the commercial potential of your technologies

• Receive up to $2,700 in funding

• Improve odds for commercial success

• Quicker elimination of non-commercial research tracks

• Expand your network of like-minded peers, instructors, investors, customers, and mentors.

• Learn the language of business and the basic principles of a business model

• Obtain eligibility to apply for $50,000 and attend the National NSF I-CorpsTM team grant.

• Increase probability of future grant success

Applicants who are working on STEM or medical related ideas, who are interested in learning about the commercial potential of their research should apply. Participants should have a team: Entrepreneurial Lead (EL), an Academic Lead (AL) or Principal Investigator (PI), and a Mentor (optional).
